Software development has changed in recent years, some companies adopting RAD (rapid application development), others sticking with the traditional Planning, Analysis, Design, Implementation, Maintenance cycle. In either case, it is typical that the software maintenance staff tend to be a different team than those on general development. This team could be in another building, another state, or even further around the globe. Indeed, it is noted that some companies like our own, may have a development team with team members in different countries.

This is where Case Centre Pro for Software Development and Maintenance comes in. It allows second or third line support to raise a bug case for the software maintenance team to investigate and resolve. Both the software developers and maintenance team have access to a common case history thereby improving the overall software product in the next release.
